Ikea recalls product. Appeal to customers

IKEA has requested that customers who acquired the 365+ HJÄLTE mixing spoon cease its use and reach out to the store. The announcement confirmed that the item has been removed from retail locations.
The recalled spoon bears a part number of 401.494.62 and a date stamp of 2445 (RRTT), which pertains to items sold post-November 2024.
Aromatic amines
In light of findings from a study conducted in Belgium, revealing that primary aromatic amines (PAA) were released above acceptable limits, Ikea has opted to recall the 365+ HJÄLTE spoons that carry the specified date marking.
Aromatic amines are utilized in various industries to manufacture dyes, rubbers, and pesticides, and they can also be found in the environment as byproducts of industrial activities. Some of these compounds are regarded as carcinogenic or potentially carcinogenic.
What should you do if you own such a spoon?
IKEA advises that „customers who have obtained one of the stirring spoons marked with the date 2445 (RRTT), sold after November 2024, should stop using it immediately and contact us for a complete refund.”

„Furthermore, IKEA urges customers to report any product recalls, especially if they are aware that the item has been given, lent, or sold to another individual,” the announcement states.
Return at any store
The company informs that „items that do not conform to standards can be returned to any Ikea location for a full refund of the purchase price. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not necessary.”
Ikea also expresses regret for „any inconvenience this situation may have caused.”
