Sesame salt withdrawn from sale due to toxin contamination
The Chief Sanitary Inspector has declared a recall of salt in Belgium due to the potential presence of Alternaria toxins in the product.
The Chief Sanitary Inspector received a notification via the Early Warning System for Unsafe Food and Feed regarding the recall of sesame salt initiated by the Belgian company LIMA NV, due to the potential presence of Alternaria toxins in the product.
„Alternaria toxins are generated by Alternaria molds, and their ingestion could pose health risks to humans,” emphasizes GIS.

Sesame salt withdrawn from sale by GISAccording to GIS, „Bio Planet SA was made aware of the risk and has informed its customers about the necessity to remove the product from sale. Official food safety authorities are overseeing the withdrawal process.”
The Office advises against consuming any product from the affected batch mentioned in the notice.
„If you experience concerning symptoms after consuming the aforementioned product, it is advised to consult your physician,” they recommended.
