Trump imposes tariffs. Finance Minister: It's not a bright morning

Finance Minister Andrzej Domański shared his thoughts on social media regarding the tariffs introduced by the US, which President Donald Trump has labeled as „reciprocal.” According to the regulation, products from the European Union will incur an additional tax of 20 percent.
On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump declared „reciprocal tariffs” on imports from abroad; for the EU, this translates to a 20 percent fee.
„This is not a hopeful morning for consumers and businesses, but Poland and Europe will emerge from this challenge even stronger,” Domański stated on the X platform.
Previously, Prime Minister Donald Tusk also addressed the American tariffs. On the X platform, he mentioned: „Friendship signifies partnership. Partnership entails genuine and sincere mutual tariffs. Appropriate measures are essential.”

Donald Trump's Tariffs
On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump enacted an order implementing „reciprocal tariffs” of no less than 10 percent on foreign imports, with the EU goods facing a 20 percent charge. The tariffs set by the US are intended to represent half of the overall tariffs and non-tariff trade barriers that other nations apply. For China, the tariffs will reach 34 percent (this will be added to the previously declared 20 percent tariffs, totaling 54 percent), Japan will face 24 percent, India will incur 26 percent, and South Korea will have 25 percent.
Shortly after Trump unveiled the tariffs, leaders from various countries, including Australia, Japan, China, the UK, and Italy, commented on the decision. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, indicated her planned response to the implementation of the US tariffs.
