Zygmunt Solorz loses to children in court

The Princely Court in Liechtenstein, in a preliminary ruling, sided with the offspring of Zygmunt Solorz and dismissed the lawsuit he had initiated. The matter revolved around amendments to the statute of the TiVi Foundation, which aimed to transfer control of Solorz’s enterprises to his children. Zygmunt Solorz remarked that „the ruling does not alter the actual situation” and indicated his intention to appeal the Liechtenstein court’s decision.
The court’s decision was disclosed in a formal statement by Zygmunt Solorz’s children: Aleksandra Żak, Tobias Solorz, and Piotr Żak.

They assert that the entourage of Zygmunt Solorz attempted to undermine the legitimacy of the declaration in which he renounced active management of the TiVi Foundation, the owner of the Polsat Plus Group.
„Nonetheless, the court’s ruling is unequivocal. The clauses of the TiVi Foundation’s statute that activate irrevocable succession are significant. The court also stressed that we have never misled or deceived our Father. This ruling carries a doubly symbolic significance for us,” the children of Solorz stated.
In their view, the court’s ruling validates the robustness and maturity of the Polsat Group’s business model.
„In a time of crisis, the succession mechanism and the protection of the family and assets against manipulative attempts or takeovers by outsiders, established many years ago, functioned effectively. Despite the harsh assault on the family, us, and the interests of the family-run companies, the safeguards in the system performed their duties. The court’s ruling affirms that the succession has occurred,” the statement elaborated.
„Furthermore, and particularly crucial for us, the court clearly underscored that there is no evidence or basis for claiming that our Father was misled by us. The desperate efforts by his entourage to attribute actions to us that conflicted with his will proved to be deceitful and unworthy,” it continued.
Children of Solorz: the most crucial battle is regrettably not finished
The offspring of Zygmunt Solorz reaffirm their commitment to safeguarding both the internal environment and all stakeholders, as well as the market, emphasizing that their primary focus will remain on ensuring the safety and growth of the companies.
„While the court’s ruling brings tranquility to the business sphere, the most vital battle is unfortunately not concluded. The court’s verdict merely reinforces how justified our worries about Father’s safety and the detrimental influence exerted on him by individuals aiming to seize his assets were. We will persist in this struggle. We will not permit either the destabilization of the companies or the fragmentation of the family,” the statement asserted.

Zygmunt Solorz also released a statement, announcing his intention to appeal the ruling of the Liechtenstein court. „The decision of the Court of First Instance does not alter anything in the factual landscape. What is essential is that Zygmunt Solorz retained control over the TiVi Foundation. The court’s ruling is not final. Zygmunt Solorz will contest the aforementioned ruling,” the statement sent to PAP indicated.
Zygmunt Solorz and the Succession Conflict
Zygmunt Solorz ranks among the wealthiest Poles, being the founder and primary shareholder of the Polsat Plus Group. A dispute regarding succession is said to exist within his immediate circle. In March 2024, Solorz wed Justyna Kulka, and according to media reports, it is with her that the billionaire’s children—Tobias Solorz and Aleksandra and Piotr Żak—are contending for the fortune.
On August 2, Solorz executed a notarial declaration transferring joint control over critical foundations for the assets, TiVi (encompassing media and telecommunications ventures, including Polsat, Polkomtel, and Netia) and Solkomtel (comprising energy enterprises). Both foundations are registered in Liechtenstein.
The following day, the billionaire sought to retract this decision and informed his two sons about it in a meeting. Media reports indicate that Solorz’s children suspected that their father’s decision reversal was influenced by Justyna Kulka. On August 13, Solorz signed another notarial declaration, attempting to evade the legal consequences of transferring the estate to Tobias Solorz and Aleksandra and Piotr Żak, contending that it was „induced by a fraudulent error.”
This initiated a legal conflict between Solorz and his children, which took place in Liechtenstein, where both foundations are established.
On September 26, Solorz announced intentions to initiate actions that would lead to the removal of his children from the management of the companies under his control. Shortly thereafter, Solorz’s two sons lost their positions on the supervisory boards of ZE PAK, Netia, Polkomtel, and Cyfrowy Polsat.
