KNF Donald Tusk dismissed Vice-Chairman Sebastian Skuza

The Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) has declared the removal of Sebastian Skuza from his role as Vice-Chairman. This action was taken by Donald Tusk following the request of the KNF’s head.
Shift in the Polish Financial Supervision Authority
„Prime Minister Donald Tusk, upon the request of Jacek Jastrzębski, Chairman of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, has dismissed Sebastian Skuza from his position as Deputy Chairman of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, effective July 31, 2025,” the Polish Financial Supervision Authority stated in a release.
Jastrzębski expressed gratitude to Skuza for his collaboration and contributions to the committee’s activities thus far. No explanation was provided for the dismissal of the deputy chairman.
Sebastian Skuza removed
Skuza assumed his role in December 2023. Within the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, he oversaw capital market regulation.
He holds a habilitation in economics and a doctorate in law, serving as a professor at the University of Warsaw.

From 1999 to 2012, he was part of the Department of Financial Market Development at the Ministry of Finance, served on the Warsaw Stock Exchange Council from 2006 to 2013, and was a member of the supervisory board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego from 2007 to 2012. Additionally, from 2012 to 2017, he worked at Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego as Managing Director and Director of the Compliance Office.
