Electricity prices 2025. There is a project
A proposal released on the Government Legislation Center’s website suggests prolonging the maximum electricity price setting at PLN 500 per megawatt-hour for residential consumers until year-end. The initiative also encompasses the introduction of a heating voucher.
This pertains to a legislative proposal regarding the heating voucher and modifications to several other laws, which has been prepared by the Ministry of Energy. Under the existing regulations, the mechanism for freezing energy prices for households will remain active until September 30, 2025.
Electricity prices 2025. A proposal exists
The rationale states that the proposal introduces various adjustments aimed at shielding citizens from escalating living expenses, particularly concerning heating and electricity.
It is intended to shift away from universal support frameworks towards strategies focused on the most vulnerable households.
Heating voucher
The Ministry of Energy has also suggested the creation of a heating voucher. The authors of the bill noted that the objective is to sustain assistance for low-income families by subsidizing a part of the heating bills owed to energy providers, which have surged due to increasing heating expenses.
The justification indicates that this measure will help combat energy poverty among those who are most vulnerable.
Protective measures are proposed for the latter half of 2025 and for the entirety of 2026.
Previously, President Karol Nawrocki vetoed legislation aimed at freezing electricity prices, a provision that was included in the so-called wind farm law during the parliamentary deliberation.
