Andrzej Klesyk to be president of PZU SA
PZU SA has declared the appointment of Andrzej Klesyk to the management board of the company, assigning him the role of president of the management board. Until the Polish Financial Supervision Authority grants approval for him to assume the position, Klesyk will fulfill the responsibilities of the president of the management board.
As stated by the Management Board of Powszechny Zakład Ubezpieczeń Spółka Akcyjna („PZU SA”, „Company”), on 27 February 2025, the Company’s Supervisory Board passed a resolution to appoint Andrzej Klesyk to the Management Board of PZU SA, designating him as President of the Management Board of PZU SA, contingent upon receiving the approval of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
Until such approval is secured, the Company’s Supervisory Board has assigned Mr. Andrzej Klesyk to carry out the responsibilities of the President of the Management Board as allowed by the relevant regulations.
„The resolution took effect immediately upon its adoption. The appointment will be effective from 3 March 2025 for a shared term encompassing three complete financial years 2023-2025,” as stated in the company’s press release.

Andrzej Klesyk is an alumnus of the Catholic University of Lublin, where he studied economics in the Faculty of Social Sciences, and he also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Additionally, he has completed various international training programs related to finance and management, including global training for partners and managing directors at The Boston Consulting Group.
From 2000 to 2003, Klesyk served as President of the Management Board of Inteligo Financial Services SA and was a Member of the Management Board of Bankgesellschaft Berlin (Polska) SA. Between April 2003 and December 2007, he was a Partner and Managing Director at The Boston Consulting Group in Warsaw, where he collaborated with PZU on significant projects.
From 14 December 2007 until 8 December 2015, Andrzej Klesyk held the position of President of the Management Board of PZU SA, overseeing the management of the Company and the PZU Group. He was instrumental in conducting the PZU IPO, which was the largest IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange at that time. Between 2017 and 2022, he acted as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Best SA, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee at NKBM Maribor, and served as a Non-Executive Director, Head of the Audit Committee, and Member of the Strategic Committee at Play Communication.
He played a key role in restructuring Ethniki, the largest insurance firm in Greece, after its acquisition by CVC (one of the world’s leading private equity firms), serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Head of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Since 2020, he has been a Managing Partner at Cornerstone Partners, where he oversees several portfolio companies.
Continuing duties
On 21 January 2025, he was appointed to the Supervisory Board of PZU SA, and on 27 January 2025, the Supervisory Board of PZU SA designated him to temporarily fulfill the responsibilities of the President of the Management Board of PZU SA. As of 31 January 2025, he has been the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PZU Życie SA. Moreover, on 14 February 2025, the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Polish Chamber of Insurance elected Andrzej Klesyk to the Audit Committee for the 2023-2026 term as a representative of PZU SA.
„As per the declaration made by Andrzej Klesyk, he is not engaged in any competitive activities with the Company, nor does he participate in any competing firm as a partner in a civil partnership, partnership, or as a member of a governing body of a competitive capital company or as a member of a governing body of any competitive legal entity, and he is not listed in the Register of Insolvent Debtors maintained under the provisions of the Act of 20 August 1997 on the National Court Register,” the release states.
