On Friday, the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) released a warning about dishes imported from China and distributed by Woolworth Polska. The alert was prompted by elevated lead migration levels, which could present a significant health hazard, according to the announcement.

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) received notification via the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) regarding the recall of a tableware set launched by the German firm Woolworth GmbH due to excessive lead migration. The agency indicated that these substances could be detrimental to human health.

Chinese dishes recalled

This recall pertains to a soup plate from batch number 2000011859305, a serving plate from batch number 2000011859947, a dessert plate from batch number 2000011857967, bowls from batch numbers 2000011859817 and 2000011859435, and a dinner plate from batch number 2000011858520.

GIS noted that their importer, Woolworth GmbH Germany, is taking measures to remove the product from the market and notify consumers. They also mentioned that their Polish distributor, Woolworth Polska, has stopped selling the product and is waiting for guidance from its German headquarters regarding the next steps for handling the product.

The State Sanitary Inspection authorities, in collaboration with the Polish distributor, are overseeing the product withdrawal process, GIS confirmed.
