Fishing gear. The resort offers a fee
The fee for products associated with fishing gear that contains plastics is set at PLN 2.70 per kilogram, as detailed in the draft regulation from the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
As stipulated by the law, businesses that introduce products listed in the annex of the relevant legislation into the market, recovery organizations representing these businesses, as well as those marketing fishing gear made from plastic, must calculate and remit a product fee using the specified rate if they fail to meet the mandated recovery, recycling, or collection benchmarks for specific waste.
Fishing gear with plastics
The fee rate is established by the Minister of Climate and Environment through regulation. The proposed draft maintains the fee rates that have been in effect since 2019, which apply to various types of lubricating oils and tires.
„In light of the amendments made to the Act at that time, it is essential to introduce an additional product category, namely fishing gear that includes plastics, and to determine a corresponding fee rate for these items,” the project authors mentioned in their justification.
„Until now, reporting for fishing gear had not been conducted, nor had any product fees been imposed—therefore, there is no data on the quantity of products introduced thus far that fall under the new regulations,” the ministry noted.
