Gastronomy in Poland. The first such situation in history.

For the first time, Poland has seen its number of catering establishments exceed 100,000. As reported by „Rzeczpospolita,” an additional two thousand have emerged in the first half of the year, including a notable rise in food trucks.
As noted by the daily, the Polish restaurant industry experienced a 1.7% growth during the first six months of the year compared to the end of 2024. „Overall, in the first half of the year, nearly 2,000 new restaurant outlets were established,” according to information from Dun&Bradstreet.
– June 2025 will be remembered in the annals of Polish gastronomy as the month when the number of outlets surpassed 100,000 – states Tomasz Starzyk, spokesperson for Dun&Bradstreet, in a conversation with „Rz”.
The rise of food trucks
Data from the company indicates that the most rapidly expanding sector is mobile catering, with just over 270 new locations introduced in a span of six months. „Nonetheless, the traditional restaurant sector is also experiencing significant growth. Compared to the end of 2024, this marks an increase of nearly 5 percent,” the newspaper mentions.
„Poles not only enjoy dining out, but they have also shown a keen interest in exploring new dishes and cuisines from across the globe for some time now. Concurrently, they are seeking numerous opportunities and venues to relish delicious and distinctive food from food trucks,” adds Tomasz Starzyk.
