Grupa Azoty has appointed a president

The presidency of Grupa Azoty has been assigned to Andrzej Skolmowski, as stated in the company’s announcement. Skolmowski previously held the position of head of Azoty.
„The Supervisory Board of Grupa Azoty SA passed a resolution appointing Mr. Andrzej Skolmowski as the President of the Management Board of the Company for the 13th term. This resolution took effect immediately upon its adoption,” reported Grupa Azoty.
Prior to this, he had been serving as the vice-president of the management board and had acted in the capacity of president.
Grupa Azoty has a new president
In a statement from Azoty, Skolmowski remarked that he views his election as president as „a sign of confidence in the developed and consistently executed recovery plan for the Azoty Group”.
– The primary goal for the management board is to reach a consensus with financing institutions and restore long-term financial stability, as well as undertake an operational restructuring of the entire capital group to ensure the profitability of business activities and expansion into new areas – he further stated.
The company also disclosed that the Group’s supervisory board has determined the number of management board members for this term at five.
The Supervisory Board of Grupa Azoty appointed Skolmowski as President on May 12 of this year, following the resignation of the former President Adam Leszkiewicz on May 9, who left to take on the role of President at Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa.
In March of last year, Skolmowski was appointed vice-president of the management board, where he was in charge of finance, controlling, corporate risk, cybersecurity, and investor relations. Since April 8, 2024, he has also been the chairman of the supervisory board of Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne „Police”, and he has been a member of the supervisory board of Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe „Puławy” since January 31, 2025.
From 2009 to 2016, Skolmowski acted as vice-president of Azoty, overseeing the finance sector and was responsible for, among other things, strategic research and investor relations.

In the first quarter of this year, Grupa Azoty reported a net loss of PLN 324.9 million, while total sales revenues surpassed PLN 3.8 billion. Meanwhile, the company’s EBITDA reached minus PLN 8 million, indicating a year-on-year improvement in the EBITDA result by PLN 42 million.
Grupa Azoty stands as the second largest producer of nitrogen and multi-component fertilizers within the EU. It is the sole manufacturer of melamine in Poland and also produces items such as polyamide, OXO alcohols, plasticizers, and titanium white. Grupa Azoty operates as a joint-stock company, with the State Treasury owning 33 percent of its shares.
