Ikea recalls product. Notice
The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate has issued a warning regarding a garlic press available for purchase at Ikea stores. The retail chain also released a statement addressing the issue.
„The Chief Sanitary Inspector was notified through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) about the recall of the garlic press due to the potential risk of small metal fragments breaking off during the product’s use,” stated the GIS press release.
It further mentioned that „using the product may lead to the unintentional ingestion of metal pieces along with food.”
„The product referenced in the notification should not be used for food contact,” cautions GIS.
Product specifics
Product name: Ikea 365+ VÄRDEFULL garlic press, Color: black, Serial numbers: 201.521.58, 305.781.89, and 601.636.02, Production dates: from 2411 (YYY) to 2522 (YYY).
„Customers can identify the affected products by the Ikea logo located on the top handle,” Ikea explained in a statement on its website.

„Customers who have bought the recalled garlic press should stop using it immediately and reach out to IKEA for a full refund,” IKEA stated in a notice on its website.
It added that „if customers are unable to clearly identify the product, they may return any Ikea 365+ VÄRDEFULL garlic press in black to receive a refund.”
It was also emphasized that „proof of purchase (receipt) is not necessary.”
