Leroy-Merlin warns against lawn mower

The Leroy-Merlin retail chain has announced that Sterwins lawnmowers may face „unexpected blade detachment.” Leroy-Merlin urges customers to cease using the product immediately.
Notices regarding this issue were shared on the websites of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and Leroy-Merlin.
It has been reported that in the 56 cm petrol lawn mowers from Sterwins (reference number: 84491064, EAN code: 3276007453294), produced in China, the blade may unexpectedly break off.

Leroy-Merlin indicates that the item poses a danger as there exists a „risk of damage to the drive shaft, potentially leading to the blade detaching.” This consequently poses a „risk of injury due to the blade detachment.”
The chain advises immediate cessation of the device’s use and requests that customers return the mower to the nearest store.
It was also mentioned that every unit of the product will be subject to repair.
The mower was available for sale in the chain’s outlets from February 19 to October 18, 2024.
