Peeled sesame withdrawn from sale. GIS warning

A batch of peeled sesame has tested positive for salmonella bacteria. This pertains to a product imported from India, as reported by the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate. GIS has advised that anyone experiencing symptoms of food poisoning should seek medical attention.
Presence of salmonella bacteria has been discovered in one specific batch of peeled sesame seeds.

GIS has announced that VOG Polska Sp. z oo and NETTO Sp. z oo have already started the process of removing the affected product from the market.
The State Sanitary Inspection authorities are overseeing the product withdrawal conducted by both the manufacturer and the distributor, as assured.
The initial symptoms of the illness can manifest within 6 hours to 3-7 days after exposure to the pathogen and may include: abdominal discomfort, fever, diarrhea, dehydration, nausea, and vomiting. In certain cases, a systemic infection with a more severe course, referred to as the extraintestinal form, can emerge, particularly in young children, the elderly, or individuals with compromised immune systems. In such instances, complications like abscesses, inflammation of the bile ducts, lungs, meninges, joints, bone marrow, bones, and sepsis may occur. Fortunately, effective treatment is available for salmonellosis.
