Thirteenth pension 2025. Nearly 7 million payments from ZUS by Easter

Nearly seven million retirees are set to receive their thirteenth pension before the Easter holiday. The total amount of benefits disbursed by the Social Insurance Institution has already surpassed PLN 13 billion gross.
The supplementary annual cash benefit corresponds to the minimum pension, which will be PLN 1,878.91 gross starting from March 1, 2025.
The thirteenth pensions are distributed along with the primary benefit, coinciding with its payment date. To date, the thirteenth pensions have been disbursed to individuals receiving basic benefits on April 1, 6, and 10.
Upcoming payment dates are April 15, 20, and 25.
The final batch of thirteenth pension payments will occur on May 1, coinciding with the distribution of pre-retirement benefits and allowances. ZUS has reported that the process of awarding and distributing the thirteenth pension has been progressing smoothly and as planned.
When will the „thirteenth” be disbursed?
As emphasized, the thirteenth pensions issued between April 1 and April 20 were allocated to nearly 7 million retirees and pensioners. The total amount of benefits granted during this period exceeded PLN 13 billion gross.
„The allocation of the 13th pension to recipients of retirement and disability benefits with a payment deadline of April 25, as well as pre-retirement benefits and allowances, will take place between April 11 and April 13, 2025,” ZUS stated.
If the benefit payment date falls on a holiday, the funds will be transferred earlier. Individuals who receive basic benefits on April 20 this year will obtain them no later than April 18 of this year, prior to Easter.
The thirteenth pension will also be distributed ahead of schedule to those eligible who receive benefits and pre-retirement allowances. This additional sum should reach them on May 1 of this year. Since that day is a holiday, the payment will be processed by April 30 of this year at the latest.
Who is eligible for the thirteenth pension from ZUS?
The thirteenth pension is available to individuals who, as of March 31 of this year, were entitled to receive one of the long-term benefits. These benefits include: retirement pension (including bridging pension, periodic capital pension, and partial pension), disability pension (including pensions for war and military invalids and accident pensions), training pension, social pension, family pension (including family pension for war or military invalids and family accident pension), supplementary parental benefit, cash benefit for blind civilian victims of war operations, teacher’s compensatory benefit, and pre-retirement benefit and allowance.
For a survivor’s pension shared by multiple recipients, only one thirteenth pension is due, irrespective of the number of eligible individuals. The thirteenth pension will be divided among those entitled to the survivor’s pension, based on the amount determined as of March 31 of the given year.
In cases where there are overlapping entitlements to benefits (e.g., pensions from ZUS and KRUS or pensions paid alongside accident pensions), the eligible individual is entitled to just one additional annual cash benefit (one thirteenth pension).
If benefits are provided by two distinct pension and retirement institutions, the thirteenth pension will be disbursed by ZUS. No deductions or enforcement actions will be applied to the amount of the thirteenth pension, and it remains independent of income.
