PIT settlement. Ministry data

– In 2024, there were 1 million 991 thousand individuals whose tax base surpassed PLN 120 thousand. This indicates that these individuals paid taxes at a higher rate of 32 percent. He also noted that in 2024, 8.7 million people paid no taxes (including those under 26 years of age who benefit from this relief), with 8 million of them filing on the tax scale.

Nearly PLN 22 billion in refunds

– Taxpayers have received tax refunds totaling PLN 22 billion so far. These refunds arise from 14.4 million declarations – commented Małgorzata Krok, Deputy Minister of Finance and Deputy Head of the National Tax Administration. She added that further refunds are being progressively processed by various tax offices.

– We understand that taxpayers desire their refunds to be processed promptly, which is why we are making efforts to facilitate this as quickly as possible. The quickest refund period is one day, and the average duration is 14 days – noted the deputy minister.
