Salmonella in a batch of eggs

On Monday, the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate issued a warning concerning Salmonella contamination in a specific batch of barn eggs, stating that these eggs should not be consumed.
The warning pertains to the product: KOKO Eggs from barn farming, class A, medium M, marked with 2PL02181302 K-2, and a best before date of 05/07/2025, with barcode 5 903427 303134. Packing facility: Jantex Polska Sp. z o. o., Zielniki 42, 63-000 Środa Wielkopolska, PL 30255916 EU.

GIS stressed that the affected product should not be consumed. If any symptoms of food poisoning appear after eating this product, it is advised to seek medical attention.
According to GIS, Jantex Polska Sp. z o. o. has verified, as part of its HACCP system, the source farm of the questionable table eggs – 2PL02181302 K-2 – and their distribution paths.
„Upon receiving the report, the company informed the recipients of the problematic batch about the situation and halted the distribution of table eggs from the aforementioned farm until laboratory test results are available,” reported GIS.

Additionally, it was noted that, in accordance with good hygiene practices, extra disinfection of the facility and all production equipment will be conducted.
The district veterinarian in Środa Wielkopolski is undertaking further inspection activities to trace the distribution of the disputed batch of table eggs and to alert the appropriate official control authorities overseeing the recipients of this batch.
