On Thursday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk shared his insights regarding the Central Statistical Office’s data on price increases in Poland. „Inflation has dropped significantly! We needed to push the PiS to relieve Polish families from soaring prices,” the head of government expressed on social media.

According to a preliminary estimate released on Thursday, the prices of consumer goods and services rose by 3.1 percent year-on-year in July 2025, with a monthly increase of 0.3 percent, as reported by the Central Statistical Office.

Prime Minister’s remarks

„Inflation has fallen sharply! We had to pursue the PiS to liberate Polish families from elevated prices, just as we liberated Poland from the large influx of migrants orchestrated from above by Kaczyński and Morawiecki and from pervasive corruption. This is why we achieved victory in the elections on October 15,” Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated in a message on the X platform.

On Wednesday, Tusk mentioned during the „Fakty po Faktach” program on TVN24 that inflation might „finally be in the top two” by August. „This indicates the end of high prices,” he remarked.

On Thursday, Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domański stated at a conference that „we anticipate inflation to stabilize around 3%, which is within the acceptable range of the NBP inflation target.”

When questioned about when he believed the Monetary Policy Council should reduce interest rates, he reiterated that he would not comment on monetary policy. „The reality is that real interest rates in Poland are elevated,” Minister Domański noted.

When asked if the lower-than-expected inflation in 2025 would allow for budget amendments or changes to the budget deficit forecast, he replied that such actions were not planned. „We do not intend to revise the budget deficit forecast, nor do we plan to alter the budget,” Andrzej Domański concluded.
