New CEO of the Polish giant

According to a statement from PGZ, Adam Leszkiewicz, the former CEO of Grupa Azoty, has been appointed as the new CEO of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa. He is set to assume his role on May 12.
Prior to this, Adam Leszkiewicz stepped down from his role as CEO of Grupa Azoty effective May 9, without providing any explanation.

Leszkiewicz has a background as a manager connected with various companies under the State Treasury, including Azoty and Polski Holding Nieruchomości, mainly in the chemical and construction sectors. From 2009 to 2011, he also served as the deputy head of the then Ministry of State Treasury.
Change in PGZ leadership
On April 2, the former president of PGZ, Krzysztof Trofiniak, announced his resignation. In the weeks leading up to this announcement, there had been media speculation regarding Trofiniak’s potential resignation, with reports indicating that the Ministry of National Defense aimed to remove him due to the sluggish production of 155 mm ammunition, which is vital for heavy artillery.
Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa is one of the largest defense corporations in Europe, forming a capital group that unites numerous industrial plants, service facilities, and research centers that are essential to the Polish defense sector. As noted on the corporation’s website, PGZ is also a producer of innovative systems and solutions utilized by the Polish Armed Forces and allied units.
