The Industrial Development Agency is seeking to acquire a state-owned entity – Fabryka Przewodów Energetycznych, located in Będzin. This information was disclosed by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK).

As per the details released on the UOKiK website, the intended consolidation involves the Industrial Development Agency (ARP), a State Treasury enterprise, assuming control over Fabryka Przewodów Energetycznych based in Będzin (FPE). Presently, the State Treasury holds all shares in FPE.

Fabryka Przewodów Energetycznych (FPE) – as noted – is a producer of copper and aluminum cables within the domestic market and is not affiliated with any capital group at this time.

In September 2024, the then-president of ARP, Michał Dąbrowski, when asked by PAP regarding the future of Fabryka Przewodów Energetycznych Będzin, acknowledged that in recent years „the factory has significantly deteriorated.” He underscored that the role of FPE Będzin in the ARP portfolio would be „considerably enhanced” and mentioned that the factory is crucial in relation to the energy transition.
