GIS pollen batch warning

A batch of „Flower Pollen” has been identified to contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids at levels that exceed the allowable limit. The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) cautions that consuming this product may pose a health risk.

GIS has confirmed that the testing conducted by the State Sanitary Inspectorate has revealed that the levels of pyrrolizidine alkaloids in the „Flower Pollen” batch surpass the permissible threshold.

Warning regarding the „Flower Pollen” batch

„Following the risk assessment by the National Institute of Public Health PZH – National Research Institute, it has been determined that consuming a product tainted with pyrrolizidine alkaloids at the identified levels may be detrimental to consumer health,” stated GIS.

GIS warning pertains to:

  • product: Flower pollen;
  • batch number and expiration date: 13/12/2026 1/1;
  • producer: Beekeeping Farm „Sądecki Bartnik” Sp. z o. o., Stróże 235, 33-331 Stróże.

GIS reports that the manufacturer has already begun the process of retracting the disputed product from the market and notifying customers.

Furthermore, it was noted that the District Veterinary Officer in Nowy Sącz is conducting the investigation surrounding this matter.
