The Minister on Changes in Photovoltaics: „Citizens Should Be the Beneficiaries”

The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has already received funding applications that account for over 90 percent of the My Electricity 6.0 program’s budget. Among various programs for individuals, the My Heat initiative has received the highest number of applications, utilizing more than half of the allocated funds.

As reported by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, by August 22, the Fund had processed applications totaling nearly PLN 1.7 billion for the My Electricity 6.0 program, which is 91.8% of its PLN 1.85 billion budget. This program provides financial support for the installation of photovoltaic panels or micro-installations with energy or heat storage units.

Who is eligible for funding?

The assistance is aimed at prosumers who have incurred costs for their photovoltaic systems after January 1, 2021, and are billed under the net-billing system. For PV systems connected to the grid from August 1, 2024, eligibility for the subsidy also requires investment in an energy or heat storage facility.

Grants for PV micro-installations that also feature an energy storage and/or heat storage unit can amount to PLN 7,000, while those without are available up to PLN 6,000. Prosumers may receive up to PLN 5,000 for a heat storage facility with a minimum capacity of 20 dm3, and up to PLN 16,000 for electricity storage facilities with at least 2 kWh capacity.

Additional funding initiatives currently available include Moje Ciepło (My Heat), Moja Elektrownia Wiatrowa (My Wind Farm), NaszEauto (Our Auto), and Czyste Wiatre (Clean Air). As of August 22, the Fund had received applications for nearly PLN 332 million, which constitutes 55.3% of its PLN 600 million budget. The Moje Ciepło (My Heat) program offers support for individuals purchasing and installing heat pumps in newly built single-family homes.

Through the NaszeEauto program, individuals, including self-employed persons, can obtain up to PLN 40,000 in funding for the purchase, leasing, or long-term rental of new M1 electric vehicles, provided their cost does not exceed PLN 225,000 net. To date, applications for this program have reached nearly PLN 334 million, which is about 21% of the budget set at PLN 1.614 billion.

Funding for your own wind turbine

My Wind Farm offers financial support to individuals—owners of residential properties or apartments—for the purchase and installation of home wind turbines and, optionally, an electricity storage unit. The turbine must have a capacity ranging from 1 to 20 kW, while the storage unit should have a minimum capacity of 2 kWh. The maximum funding available is PLN 30,000. Applications for this program have amounted to nearly PLN 66 million, which is 16.5% of the PLN 400 million budget.

In the new Clean Air initiative, as of August 19, contracts worth approximately PLN 330 million have been signed, with about PLN 5 million disbursed. Applications totaling around PLN 1.4 billion have been submitted. The budget financed by the Modernization Fund stands at PLN 10 billion.
