NBP in the red. Over 13 billion in losses

The National Bank of Poland reported a loss exceeding PLN 13 billion for 2024, as stated in the central bank’s financial report.
The NBP’s loss for the year 2024 totaled PLN 13,347.9 million. Several factors contributed to this outcome:
- a negative impact from the monetary policy amounting to PLN 21,166.1 million,
- a negative outcome from exchange rate fluctuations totaling PLN 8,340.2 billion,
- a positive result from reserve management of PLN 19,760.5 million.
Additional parameters
According to the National Bank of Poland’s report, the interest result for 2024 was negative, reaching PLN 1,390.6 billion.
It was also mentioned that the financial operations result for 2024 was negative, amounting to PLN 10,814.6 billion (a decrease of PLN 32,585.0 million compared to 2023).
The NBP reported a loss of PLN 20.8 billion for the year 2023.
