Ceazry Tomczyk discussing TNT deliveries to the American military TVN24

The Nitro-Chem Chemical Plant in Bydgoszcz entered into a contract with Paramount Enterprises International on Wednesday to provide TNT to the US Army for the years 2027-2029. This agreement amounts to PLN 1.2 billion.

The contract was finalized in the presence of Deputy Minister of Defense Cezary Tomczyk. Among those who signed were Acting President of Nitro-Chem Arkadiusz Miszuk and President of Paramount Enterprises International John Coney.

– This meeting is significant as we are sharing our expertise and offering our products to the United States, specifically to Paramount. Poland is the leading producer of TNT within NATO. Nitro-Chem is a facility we can take immense pride in. This contract, valued at PLN 1.2 billion, involves supplying 18 thousand tons of TNT to the United States over the next three years. Poland is the primary supplier of TNT to the United States, fulfilling 90 percent of their requirements – stated Tomczyk.

He noted that the contract established by Nitro-Chem for the years 2027-2029 is yet another agreement with the American side. He added that Poland has an „ironclad contract” for the supply of TNT to the US Army.

„Polish technologies are respected globally”

The deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense highlighted that in the upcoming years, the ministry plans to invest around one billion zlotys in the Bydgoszcz facility, with current investments totaling PLN 120 million.

Regarding the signing of the agreement, Tomczyk remarked that „even various types of customs tariffs will not hinder us; we will manage everything.”

The deputy minister emphasized that the United States is a crucial ally, both for security and in the arms industry perspective. He remarked that contracts should be cultivated on a foundation of partnership, and this signed agreement exemplifies that.

– Polish technologies related to explosives, especially TNT, are valued worldwide and recognized by our major partners. Over the next three years, we aim to invest more than PLN 3 billion in an ammunition factory in Poland. Nitro-Chem, among others, is a facility where we intend to invest – stated the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense.

The government aims to keep technologies domestically

Tomczyk pointed out that Poland needs to significantly enhance its capabilities, not just in terms of 155 mm ammunition but also regarding the overall arms industry capabilities.

He mentioned that examples of collaboration with the Americans include the plans for establishing the Abrams service center and the resolution of the offset issue concerning the aircraft factories in Łódź and Dęblin.

– We will do everything possible to ensure that technologies remain in Poland, that jobs are preserved here, and that supply lines are as short as possible, so that if a critical moment arises, we are prepared for any eventuality – asserted the deputy minister.

Tomczyk emphasized that given the global situation, many comments are made, not all of which are essential, but the strategic partnership with the United States remains a steadfast and enduring alliance.

Acting President Arkadiusz Miszuk underscored that Paramount Enterprises International is a stable partner for Nitro-Chem, and the signed contract will facilitate the execution of further development projects while also ensuring employment for the company’s workforce in the upcoming years.
