UOKiK has initiated proceedings against Decora. The company rejects the allegations

The President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection has launched antitrust proceedings against Decora, suspecting that the floor panel manufacturer engaged in anti-competitive practices by fixing prices and segmenting the sales market, as stated by the company. The company claims that the proceedings „are unfounded.”
As per the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, the firm’s actions involved establishing prices for vinyl panels, underlays, skirting boards, and floor profiles included in their offerings, along with dividing the wholesale market.
Decora disputes UOKiK claims
„The company believes that the initiation of antitrust proceedings is unsubstantiated. During the process, the firm plans to contest the stance of the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection in its entirety,” the statement indicated.
Engaging in an agreement that restricts competition can lead to a financial penalty of up to 10 percent of the entrepreneur’s turnover. Those in management who are responsible for entering into such collusion may face fines of up to PLN 2 million.
