„At the crossroads, we went our own way.” Minister comments on the end of the Third Way
At a pivotal moment, we chose our own path – shared Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, Minister of Funds, on social media. She mentioned the conclusion of the Third Way initiative, as reported on Tuesday by Marshal Szymon Hołownia.
„We are concluding the Third Way initiative and embarking on a new journey with a vision for ambitious growth for Poland. For generations, not just a single term,” Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, a member of Poland 2050 and the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, stated on Wednesday on Platform X. Concurrently, she expressed her gratitude to the Polish People’s Party for their collaboration.
„At this crossroads, we have chosen our distinct path – Poland 2050. A path devoid of loan subsidies, yet focused on social housing, without party-controlled public media, but with state treasury companies managed by professionals,” she wrote.

The Conclusion of the Third Way
The announcement that the PSL Supreme Council has decided „to effectively conclude the Third Way initiative” (PSL and Poland 2050) was made on Tuesday evening on Platform X by the leader of Poland 2050, Sejm Speaker Szymon Hołownia. „We accept the decision of our coalition partner PSL’s Supreme Council to effectively conclude the Third Way initiative with understanding and appreciation. Understanding, as we had agreed on a series of four elections. Appreciation, because we have both honored our mutual commitments, and loyalty and trust are essential in politics,” wrote the leader of Poland 2050.
Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, Hołownia and Kosiniak-Kamysz Radek Pietruszka/PAPPSL spokesman Miłosz Motyka stated that „there was no such resolution.” „Nonetheless, there was a discussion indicating that as a formation we are prepared to run independently (in the elections – ed.)” – he reported.
In his post, Hołownia also shared that the National Council of Poland 2050 has been convened for June 28. „We will reaffirm our commitment to collaborate constructively with our partners in striving for 'recovering’ companies, genuinely public media, affordable and accessible housing, and digital security for our children,” he announced.
Hołownia further added that in a renewed government, politicians from Poland 2050 will advocate for bold development. „And the prospect of contesting independently in the upcoming elections fills us with genuine political excitement today,” wrote the leader of Poland 2050.

The Third Way, a coalition formed by PSL and Szymon Hołownia’s Poland 2050, was established prior to the 2023 parliamentary elections.
