Biedronka, Auchan, Lidl, Aldi, Kaufland, and Żabka. What stores will be open this long weekend?
The public holiday on Friday, August 15th, followed by the closed Sunday on August 17th, means that the majority of shops will remain shut on both days.
Extended weekend. Which shops will be operational?
Many retailers do not extend their hours ahead of the long weekend. However, Biedronka has chosen to do so. On Thursday, almost 3,000 outlets within the chain will remain open until 11:30 p.m. or later. Additionally, Biedronka stores will also have extended hours on Saturday, although specific timings have not been disclosed.
In response to inquiries from PAP, chains such as Auchan, Lidl, Aldi, Kaufland, and Żabka confirmed that their stores will operate during regular hours on Thursday and Saturday.
Kaufland mentioned that most of its locations will close by 10 p.m., with some staying open until 11 p.m.
As for Aldi, their stores are expected to remain open until 10 p.m., except for those situated in specific areas, like shopping centers.
Żabka pointed out that the majority of its outlets will function on limited days (i.e., Fridays and Sundays), utilizing the exemption available for self-employed entrepreneurs. Nevertheless, the choice to operate will ultimately rest with the individual franchisees.
