PLL LOT cancels further flights to and from Tel Aviv until Wednesday

Spokesman for PLL LOT, Krzysztof Moczulski, declared that the airline has canceled additional flights between Warsaw and Tel Aviv until Wednesday. This decision was taken following the missile strike on Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday.
On Sunday, a ballistic missile launched by Houthi insurgents from Yemen struck the vicinity of Ben Gurion Airport, located 15 km south of Tel Aviv, according to the Israeli military. Emergency services reported several individuals sustained minor injuries. Flight activities were halted for approximately thirty minutes. The missile impacted a cluster of trees next to one of the airport’s access roads.
PLL LOT cancels flights to Tel Aviv
The LOT Polish Airlines spokesperson revealed on the X platform that the airline opted to cancel flights to/from Tel Aviv on Tuesday: LO152, LO156/155, LO151, along with the flight scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, number LO152. „Our teams are in regular communication with the passengers of these flights,” he remarked.
In light of the attack, PLL LOT’s flights from Warsaw and Krakow to Tel Aviv on Sunday were called off. The spokesperson stated at that time that the airline would evaluate later flights to Israel after assessing the security situation.

Other airlines are also canceling flights
Lufthansa, Delta, British Airways, and Air India also announced on Sunday afternoon that they were halting flights to Tel Aviv for the sake of passenger safety.
On Monday, Lufthansa stated it would extend the cancellation of flights to Israel until Sunday. Hungarian carrier Wizz Air, which also operates flights from Israel to Poland, mentioned it would cease its flights until Thursday. Ryanair, servicing routes from Tel Aviv to Krakow and Poznan, has also suspended flights to Israel until Tuesday.
Ben Gurion Airport serves as Israel’s primary international airport.
