Polish Airports has a new CEO

Łukasz Chaberski has been designated by the supervisory board of the company as the new president of Polskie Porty Lotnicze (PPL). As stated, his term will commence on April 1. Chaberski is set to succeed Andrzej Ilkow, who was relieved of his duties in February.
According to a press release from PPL, Chaberski has held the position of director of the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for the Central Communication Port at the Ministry of Infrastructure since 2024.
Previously, he led the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for the Central Communication Port within the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, and for many years served as the deputy director of the Aviation Department in the Ministry of Infrastructure. He was tasked with executing state policy regarding the development of airport infrastructure, international collaborations, and safety matters within civil aviation.

Polskie Porty Lotnicze is a joint-stock enterprise formed as a result of the transformation on April 1, 2023, of the State Enterprise „Porty Lotnicze” (PPL) into a single-member joint-stock company, in line with the provisions of the Act dated July 22, 2022, aimed at enhancing the investment process of the Central Communication Port. At the time of transformation, the State Treasury was the sole shareholder of the company. In September 2023, the Government Plenipotentiary for the Central Communication Port transferred shares of the newly established Polskie Porty Lotnicze SA to the special purpose vehicle Central Communication Port sp. z o.o. The current sole shareholder of PPL SA is Central Communication Port sp. z o.o. PPL’s assets include, among others, Chopin Airport in Warsaw, which is the largest airport in Poland and ranks among the largest in Central and Eastern Europe. PPL is also the parent organization of the PPL Capital Group, holding stakes in 16 companies, including those managing airports. Polish Airports operate under legal regulations set forth by the Civil Aviation Authority and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
