The entrepreneur’s situation

As reported by „Gazeta Wyborcza,” Dariusz Górczyński, a resident of Słupca in the Wielkopolska province, began collaborating with the 33rd Air Transport Base in Powidz in 2024. Following his success in the tender process, his firm – Centrala Czystości industrial laundry – was to provide washing services for military uniforms. According to the statements included in the tender documentation, the army was expected to deliver approximately 7 tons of clothing to the laundry on a daily basis, totaling roughly 150 tons each month.

According to the daily, based on these projections, the contract’s value was estimated to exceed PLN 12 million. To fulfill the contract, Górczyński secured a loan to expand his laundry, hired additional personnel, established partnerships with a subcontractor, and developed the necessary infrastructure on the military base, including containers and service stations.

Despite his readiness to commence service provision, the actual quantity of clothing delivered was significantly less than anticipated. Rather than several tons each day, the company received around 500 kilograms of clothing. According to the entrepreneur, the contract and verbal assurances from the command indicated that in the event the army failed to provide the promised amount of clothing, he was entitled to receive 50 percent of the contract’s value. However, he has yet to receive any compensation.

– I was still hopeful that the army would pay me 50% of the agreed amount, as the contract assured me that in cases of non-fulfillment of the expected quantities of dirty laundry. This was stipulated in the contract, and I received such confirmation from the commander. Yet, they have not made any payments. I am left with nothing. Currently, I am on the brink of bankruptcy – Górczyński stated in an interview with „Gazeta Wyborcza”.
