The government will spend billions on social housing. Andrzej Domański: We do not plan to subsidize loans.

Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański declared that close to one billion złoty will be designated for social and municipal housing in the upcoming week. He stressed that the government does not intend to offer subsidies for housing loans.
„Next week, almost one billion zlotys will be allocated for social and municipal housing. These are the funds that have been the subject of a long-standing struggle,” the minister stated on Polish Radio's First Channel.
No subsidies for housing loans
The Finance Minister highlighted that the government’s housing strategy does not include subsidies for mortgages . „There will be no subsidies for mortgages. There will be no REITs in the housing sector. However, as I have mentioned frequently, we need to support the supply side. In simpler terms, significantly more housing must be constructed in Poland,” Domański noted.
REITs are real estate investment trusts that enable investors to gain from renting, selling, or managing properties without needing to directly purchase buildings.
The Minister also revealed that the ministry is in the process of drafting the budget for the next year, which will be unveiled in August.
