Fire in Ząbki. Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański's announcement in „One on One” on TVN24

I believe this is somewhat of a fear tactic employed by certain political factions suggesting that we will restrict access to cash. There are no such plans or intentions – stated Finance Minister Andrzej Domański during the „One on One” program on TVN24. The ministry head also assured that support will certainly be available for those impacted by the fire in Ząbki.
– We will, of course, coordinate with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MSW – ed.), the relevant services, and assistance will surely be provided within the framework of the budget – the Minister of Finance discussed the aid for individuals affected by the fire in Ząbki.
– In Poland, resources are always available to assist those who have suffered due to tragedy – he stressed.

On Thursday after 7 p.m., a fire broke out in the attic of one of the buildings located on Powstańców Street in Ząbki. Firefighting efforts are currently underway. The fire has affected at least two structures. Residents of Ząbki and nearby areas have been advised to keep their windows closed and to stay indoors. An alert from RCB has been issued.
Senior Brigadier Wojciech Kruczek, the Chief Commandant of the State Fire Service, reported late Friday that the blaze in the residential blocks in Ząbki had been brought under control. He noted that only the hotspots in the attic were still being extinguished, and the next phase of the firefighters’ operations would involve a meticulous search of all rooms and living quarters to ensure no one remained inside. He also mentioned that the firefighters had received no reports indicating anyone might still be in the building.

Andrzej Domański on cash
The host of „One on One,” Agata Adamek, also inquired: – Minister, how much cash do you currently have in your wallet? – At this moment, I probably have about 100 zlotys in my wallet – he responded.
In reaction to the notion that the president of the National Bank of Poland might criticize him, since Adam Glapiński believes cash represents freedom, Domański replied: – I am accustomed, likely like most individuals of my generation, not to mention younger persons, to cashless transactions.
– We all use cards, mobile phones, and there are increasingly more devices available for making payments. This is a trend we are observing in Poland and globally, where cashless transactions are becoming increasingly significant – he stated.
– Cash indeed offers a sense of freedom, a degree of anonymity regarding payments, which some associate with freedom. This is why I have consistently emphasized since the onset of my term as Minister of Finance that maintaining access to cash is crucial. I believe this is somewhat of a scare tactic from certain political parties suggesting we will restrict access to cash. There are no such plans or intentions – he remarked.
Finance Minister on reconstruction: no names mentioned yet
Andrzej Domański also discussed the government reconstruction. – At this point, there is no discussion about any names or positions. Instead, we are focusing on improving specific processes and efficiency – he explained.
When asked if he would also oversee other domains such as energy or funds post-reconstruction, he replied: – There is no such dialogue.
He indicated that he had only heard of such plans „through the media.” – These decisions will be made by the Prime Minister and the coalition partners – he emphasized.
Andrzej Domański was further asked about his views regarding the potential inclusion of Włodzimierz Czarzasty and Szymon Hołownia, leaders of coalition parties, into the government. – It would certainly facilitate cooperation and enhance communication within the government. But whether it will transpire is hard to determine at this moment – he said.
