Lodz. Former US Ambassador Mark Brzezinski on Pelion's Supervisory Board

Former U.S. Ambassador Mark Brzezinski has been appointed to the board of Pelion, the largest healthcare firm in Poland. This announcement was published on the company’s official website.
Pelion disclosed that Brzezinski joined the supervisory board at the beginning of February. Jacek Szwajcowski, the company’s CEO, highlighted in the announcement that the firm and the former ambassador share a common goal of „dedication to developing contemporary healthcare systems that benefit patients and society as a whole, along with a strategic perspective on innovation and sustainable growth.”
– Throughout its 35-year history, the company has evolved into the largest entity in the healthcare sector in Poland and Lithuania and ranks among the largest in the European Union. This is a remarkable accomplishment and a splendid example of how Polish entrepreneurship has emerged and flourished – Brzezinski remarked.
Who is Mark Brzesinski?
The announcement noted that Brzezinski held the position of U.S. ambassador to Poland from 2021 to 2025. For his contributions and efforts in fostering international collaboration and Polish-American ties, he received the Order of the Commander’s Cross from the president in January 2025.

Prior to this, Brzezinski served as the U.S. ambassador to Sweden from 2011 to 2015, where he was honored with the Royal Order of the Polar Star by the King of Sweden, a prestigious award seldom conferred upon a foreign ambassador.
Brzezinski earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in political science from Oxford University. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), where he participates on the advisory board of the CFR Corporate Program. From 1991 to 1993, he was a Fulbright Commission scholar in Poland. In 2010, he was appointed to the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board at the State Department, which supervises Fulbright and various U.S. government exchange initiatives.

According to Pelion’s website, the company is recognized as the largest healthcare organization in Poland, operating across three distinct business lines, each managed by specialized companies that handle wholesale, retail, hospital supplies, and logistics services.
