Trade in Poland. Shops are disappearing from the streets.

Based on information from Dun & Bradstreet Poland, a firm specializing in the processing and analysis of business data, at least 10 shops vanish from the Polish market each day. Around 2,000 stores have shut down over the past year, although more than 365,000 continue to operate in Poland.
According to statistics from Dun & Bradstreet Poland, as reported by „Rzeczpospolita”, the total number of shops in the Polish market fell by more than 0.5% during the first half of this year compared to the end of 2024, reaching approximately 365,200 outlets.
The most significant declines have been observed in the retail sectors of clothing and footwear, as well as in pharmacies, automotive parts outlets, second-hand clothing shops, computer stores, and toy retailers.
„The number of branches has decreased in 18 out of the 28 sectors monitored by Dun & Bradstreet,” is noted in „Rzeczpospolita.”
Conversely, certain sectors have seen an increase in the number of stores, including a 3.2% rise in greengrocers. There has also been growth in bakeries, liquor stores, home appliance retailers, sporting goods outlets, medical supply shops, and jewelry stores.
