The CEO of Grupa Azoty, Adam Leszkiewicz, resigns

Adam Leszkiewicz has stepped down from his role as CEO of Grupa Azoty effective May 9, as stated in the company’s announcement. The reason for his resignation was not disclosed in the statement.
Adam Leszkiewicz has held the position of President of the Management Board of the Company since March 2024.
Media reports indicate that Leszkiewicz was expected to participate in the competition for the role of president of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa.

Corrective actions
– Over the past year, in collaboration with the entire management team, we have established and initiated a targeted action plan aimed at enhancing the financial situation and ultimately achieving long-term stability for the entire Capital Group – said Leszkiewicz, as quoted in the announcement.
He emphasized that the vision of a robust and competitive Grupa Azoty is of great significance to him, which is why he intends to remain actively engaged in its development efforts.
„Throughout this period, the Group’s Management Board has executed corrective measures, one notable outcome being a considerable improvement in the financial results for 2024 compared to the previous year – with an increase in the EBITDA result exceeding PLN 1 billion compared to 2023. The net loss was reduced from PLN 3.29 billion in 2023 to PLN 1.1 billion net in 2024,” the Group’s press release states.
Furthermore, „the quantity of products sold rose year-on-year by nearly 700 thousand tons. Additionally, since November of last year, the Group has been rolling out the AZOTY BUSINESS Program, which envisions a comprehensive transformation of the business model,” it added.
Grupa Azoty is a pivotal capital group in the fertilizer and chemical sector within Europe. It holds the second position in the European Union for the production of nitrogen and multi-component fertilizers and maintains a strong presence in markets for products such as melamine, polyamide, OXO alcohols, plasticizers, and titanium dioxide.
