Stanowski criticizes TVP journalist Organizer’s materials

Under the governance of Law and Justice (PiS), the firm of journalist and presidential contender Krzysztof Stanowski billed TVP for over one million złoty, as per data acquired by Onet. Additionally, Stanowski received payment for his role as an expert in the studio.

Onet disclosed specifics about Stanowski’s collaboration with Polish Television during the Law and Justice era.

Stanowski collaborated with TVP. Here’s the amount he earned

According to the portal, the entrepreneur and veteran sports journalist began working with the state broadcaster in late 2018. At that time, Jacek Kurski was the president of TVP, and Marek Szkolnikowski led TVP Sport.

Stanowski launched his current affairs program „Stan futbolu” there, which had previously aired on the Sportklub and Eleven Sports networks, and subsequently online via the Weszło TV and Weszło FM platforms, which were then under the ownership of the current presidential candidate.

„He became associated with TVP through the Weszło TV company, founded in 2017. Stanowski held shares in it along with his spouse. It was through Weszło TV, among other avenues, that the former journalist became a co-owner of the Sports Channel in January 2020, which he co-founded with Mateusz Borek, Michał Pol, and Tomasz Smokowski. After parting ways with them, he sold Weszło TV to Maciej Wandzel, a former co-owner of Legia Warsaw. Presently, the company operates under the name MW Inwestycje,” it states.

„Krzysztof Stanowski sold Telewizja Polska a program created for its online platforms from autumn 2018 to spring 2023. His company issued the first invoice in January 2019 for over PLN 44,000. The following invoice was only in July of the same year – for PLN 147,000. Thereafter, billing became more consistent, typically on a monthly basis,” Onet details.

„Initially, TVP compensated Stanowski PLN 4,000 plus VAT for each episode. By 2023, this amount saw a slight increase to PLN 6,000 plus VAT. Over the span of four years, Weszło TV issued 46 invoices to TVP totaling PLN 1,30,740,” the website reports.

As Onet highlights, this does not mark the end.

„Krzysztof Stanowski also engaged with Telewizja Polska at that time in a different capacity. During Euro 2020 (held in 2021 due to the pandemic), he served as an expert in the TVP Sport studio. According to Onet, he earned PLN 40.5 thousand in this role,” it states.

Stanowski concluded his collaboration with TVP in June 2023.

Heated exchange during the debate

The topic of Stanowski’s collaboration with TVP arose during Monday’s debate among three television stations – TVN24, Polsat News, and TVP. The debate was moderated by journalists – Radomir Wit from TVN24, Piotr Witwicki from Polsat News, and Dorota Wysocka-Schepf from TVP.

In his opening remarks at the debate, Krzysztof Stanowski criticized public television for the fact that – as he claimed – despite several staff objections, Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf was the co-host of the debate. He referred to the journalist as „the high priestess of propaganda.”
