The richest countries of the European Union – Eurostat data. How did Poland fare?

In 2024, Luxembourg reported the highest GDP per capita, while Bulgaria had the lowest. According to Eurostat, Poland’s GDP per capita stood at 79 percent of the EU average.
Eurostat assessed GDP per capita using purchasing power standards. This data is derived from Eurostat’s preliminary estimates of purchasing power parities and GDP for the year 2023.
In 2024, the gross domestic product (GDP) per capita in terms of purchasing power standards (PPS) varied from 66% of the EU average in Bulgaria to 241% in Luxembourg.
As per Eurostat, ten nations, constituting approximately 34% of the EU populace, surpassed the EU average concerning GDP per capita.
Highest and lowest levels
Luxembourg and Ireland exhibited the highest figures (141% and 111% above the EU average respectively), significantly outpacing the Netherlands (35% above the EU average), Denmark (+28%) and Belgium (+17%).
Bulgaria recorded the lowest GDP per capita, falling 34% below the EU average. Greece and Latvia also remained below average, by 30% and 29% respectively.
Poland’s GDP per capita was 79 percent of the European Union average.
